EXCLUSIVE: After comedian Lucy Beaumont said that piercing baby's ears should be 'illegal', Kerry Katona has branded these claims 'ridiculous' as she weighed in on the debate
Lucy Beaumont raised some eyebrows last week as she slammed parents for piercing their baby's ears, claiming that it should be 'illegal'. And now, Kerry Katona has given her opinion on the matter, disagreeing with the comedian as she recalled her own ears being pierced young.
And taking to her weekly column to share her opinion, Kerry said: "Comedian Lucy Beaumont has said that piercing a baby’s ears should be illegal, which I think is quite ridiculous. Most kids get it done at some point and at least when they’re young it won’t hurt – it makes it easier." Following Lucy's post, several fans were quick to give their views on the situation, with many of Lucy’s followers sharing her belief that piercing babies was cruel and should be reserved for when children are older.
A second fan also agreed adding: “Yes! I’ve always said this, it’s completely unnecessary pain to inflict on a child for the sake of the PARENTS' vanity. The law needs to be changed, no one under the age of 13 should be allowed it to have it done.”
