ICYMI: It came down to the wire, but the Kentville Salvation Army was able to reach - and slightly exceed - its kettle campaign fundraising goal. Read all about it here.
Major Sharon MacLeod of the Kentville Salvation Army says that, thanks to Annapolis Valley generosity, they were able to surpass the fundraising goal for the 2022 Christmas Kettle Campaign. FILE PHOTOKENTVILLE, N.S. — With only a few days remaining, it looked like it may not happen, but the Kentville Salvation Army was able to reach the goal of the 2022 Christmas Kettle Campaign.
This means they will be able to help individuals and families in need to the same extent in the coming year. At Christmas, the Salvation Army provides food and toy hampers to families in need. The church is also involved in community outreach efforts at other times, providing emergency financial assistance and sending kids to summer camp, for example.
Even though the kettle campaign is over, MacLeod said people could still donate throughout the year. Donations can be dropped off at the Kentville Salvation Army Church, located at 15 Nichols Ave.
