The Princess of Wales posted a sweet family photo in honour of Mother's Day - however, the image sparked speculation due to the absence of her wedding ring
Kensington Palace released the first official photo of Kate Middleton since her 'planned abdominal surgery' on Mother's Day. The sweet image, taken by Prince William, featured Kate sitting in a garden chair surrounded by the couple's three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
This was down to claims the photograph had been manipulated, after certain elements looked as if they had been tampered with. From Charlotte's hair abruptly stopping at her shoulder, to Kate's jacket zipper not lining up, eagle eyed social media sleuths also noticed that the Princess of Wales wasn't wearing her wedding ring.
According to ITV News, Kate's team said that she was "at home" when the photograph was taken and reiterated that "it was her husband who took the photo" in Windsor sometime last week. Meanwhile, it was also suggested that the Princess had recently undergone a major abdominal procedure, meaning she may have had to remove the ring before surgery, and simply hasn't put it back on.
All the speculation surrounding the altered image - which is of huge concern to the news industry currently anyway due to AI technology editing photos - was put to bed on Monday 11 March, when Kate confirmed she had Photoshopped the pic.
