Labour leader Keir Starmer emphasizes the need for a swift agreement to ensure Nottingham Forest remains at its iconic City Ground stadium. Talks between the club and the city council regarding rent have stalled, potentially forcing the club to relocate.
Keir Starmer says a deal to keep Nottingham Forest at its historic City Ground home needs to be done "as quickly as possible". The Labour leader was speaking on a visit to Nottinghamshire in which he described Forest as a club with an "incredible history", though he committed the cardinal sin of calling the club "Notts Forest."
A relocation to land formerly earmarked for HS2 in Toton has been floated, but figures including Nottingham Forest's manager have spoken of their desire to remain at their "special" home, where they have played since 1898.Wading in on the dispute during a visit to the King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield on Monday , Mr Starmer told Nottinghamshire Live: "As an Arsenal fan, I'm very fond of Notts Forest, as I think any football fan is.
