Over 20 Labour councillors have already resigned over the party’s stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict

23 councillors have resigned from Labour so far, with Lara Parizotto of Hounslow Council claiming she took the decision because the party was no “longer aligned with her values”. It comes after councillors were advised by the party not to attend pro-Palestine protests responding to the conflict.He wrote that “this is a terrifying and distressing time for everyone – Israeli, Palestinian, Muslim and Jew” and said he believed it was “important that people hear directly what our position is”.
