And when one of your daughters happens to be Katie Price, there is certainly a lot to discuss. “I don’t lie, so if it comes from me and the heart, people may take it on board that what I say is the truth.”

An emotional Amy admits she prepared herself for the worst and wrote letters to her family, including her grandchildren, for when the time comes. It’s then we realise that Katie is talking about those fears in the past tense, and Amy shares that she is in recovery after undergoing a lung transplant. Admitting that writing the book has been an emotional experience, Amy confides that the hardest sections to write were the parts where her strong-willed daughter doesn’t take her advice.

“It’s not because I don’t listen and take it on board, there’s just something in me. I’ve got better now, I’ve learnt with therapy to hold back, to listen, and think of what other people are saying – maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, but I think of the consequences.” “It will explain to the kids and help them to understand why I had a breakdown, why I have been the way I am, because there’s always two sides to every story,” says the star.

“I learned in therapy that things often stem from your childhood. That’s probably why I’ve jumped from one relationship to the other and it makes sense. It’s all rushed and I want it all, the fairytale, and you think you can change people but you can’t. I have made shocking choices with men – that’s it.

However, self-improvement doesn’t just start on the outside for Katie, she’s really working on herself from within. “I see a therapist every week now and I wish I did it before,” reveals the star.
