Kathy is back – but she has bad news EastEnders legend Kathy Beale left Albert Square behind several weeks ago when she headed over to America to visit son Ben Mitchell . Ben’s family were left stunned earlier this year when he was arrested for a fraud committed in America, and was sentenced to a custodial sentence after pleading guilty. It transpired that he committed the crime when he travelled to the States to inquire about specialist treatment options for Lola Pearce’s brain tumour.
