Duchess Kate Middleton has been photographed looking rather sombre in black as she sets off on the afternoon school run to collect her three children from school.

Prince William , now heir apparent, is currently thought to be on his journey home from Balmoral, and is expected to arrive in Windsor later this afternoon, to be reunited with his wife and children. He arrived at the Scottish royal estate with his uncle Prince Andrew , the Duke of York, by his side with his other uncle Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex in the backseats.
