In royal tradition, Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to spend Christmas at Sandringham Estate with King Charles and other royal members. While they will observe traditional activities such as exchanging joke gifts, attending church, and playing board games, they are considering abandoning the annual Christmas Eve gift exchange, a practice rooted in the family's German heritage and favored by the late Queen Elizabeth.
In royal tradition, Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to spend Christmas at Sandringham Estate alongside King Charles and other members of the Royal Family . The royals will gather for their usual festive traditions, with the exchange of joke gifts, attending church and playing board games, but there's one activity the Prince and Princess of Wales are keen to abandon for their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
However, a royal expert has revealed that Kate and William could completely remove this Christmas tradition, as they would prefer to celebrate in a "more normal way." Speaking about the Wales family when it comes to the festive season, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond spoke exclusively to OK! and said: "I don't think they worry particularly about how they’re perceived at Christmas but I do think that Catherine and William want to do things in a more normal way.
The royal expert added: "I suspect that when they are King and Queen a lot of traditions will change – and the exchange of presents on Christmas Eve may well be one of them."
