BREAKING: The King and Queen Consort are to entertain the President of South Africa next week in the first state visit of his reign - and William and Kate will play a 'major role'.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will have a major role to play in the first state visit under King Charles in his first state visit since taking over the throne.
Cyril Ramaphosa will spend two days in the UK next week and will be the first state visit in three years, due to the pandemic.In the finer details of the trip it has been revealed that the Prince of Wales, in his new role as heir to the throne, will, with the Princess of Wales, step up to play a major part in the important diplomatic event.
William and Kate will greet the president at his London hotel on behalf of the King on Tuesday morning, travel with him to Horse Guards Parade for the ceremonial welcome with Charles, and join the carriage procession back to the Palace.
