A man had used the footpath beside Albert Centre to store empty boxes and other items since at least December 2022.But he has since moved his items, according to the Land Transport Authority .shared photos of the piles and piles of the flattened boxes stacked on one side of the pavement and more stuff on the other side.

He told Stomp:"The issue of trash and empty boxes blocking the walkway and a karung guni man using the walkway as his base of operations at 270 Queen Street was raised in December 2022. "Until Feb 27, the issue still persisted. I lodged several complaints on the OneService app to no avail. I made calls to the National Environment Agency and Jalan Besar Town Council, who both said this was not under their jurisdiction. In response to a Stomp query, LTA said on March 8:"LTA has engaged the individual and he has since shifted his items to avoid causing obstruction on the footpath.

"Public footpaths are common spaces and LTA would like to remind the public to use these spaces in a considerate manner. "We are working with the town council and grassroots leaders to find a permanent solution, hopefully without having to resort to hard enforcement."
