The family of a Kalk Bay lady who died as a result of injuries suffered after she was knocked down by a bicycle during the Cape Town Cycle Tour are looking for an answer from the police. Edith Sanders, owner of the What Not China store in Kalk Bay , was allegedly struck by one of the cyclists while crossing the road during the event on March 10, suffering multiple injuries and eventually passing away in hospital.

” “We’re not trying to blame anyone. As a family, we just need closure. If anyone has information that could help the police investigation, please come forward.” Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust director David Bellairs expressed his condolences, saying: “We are deeply saddened by the incident.” The incident was reported to the race's joint operations centre, and the organisers took prompt action, with paramedics dispatched to the area.
