Highly-rated Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mduduzi Shabalala has been spotted training with LaLiga side Villarreal.Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa Cerámica where he has been training with LaLiga side Villarreal.
The 17-year-old was afforded the opportunity – albeit delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic –following his Player of the Tournament-showing at the 2020 U-17 COSAFA Cup, and arrived in Spain on the back of a two-week trial in Belgium. Last month, Shabalala embarked on his journey to Europe where he underwent a trial with newly-crowned second division champions Westerlo, who already boast Bafana Bafana star Lyle Foster among their ranks.
The teenage starlet is one of two Amakhosi youngsters currently abroad, with the club having confirmed that goalkeeperShabalala is yet to make his senior debut for Chiefs but was selected as one of the club's representatives at the inaugural DStv Compact Cup, where he made two appearances for eventual champions, Warriors.
