The 29-year-old South American has had mixed results in his debut season for Amakhosi. Although he started the season well scoring three goals in his first 10 games, Castillo faded away as the campaign went on and struggled to stamp his authority in the middle of the park. His partnership withhas often been criticised as it lacked the spark or creativity to bring the team together in terms of play.
During the Africa Cup of Nations, the Kaizer Chiefs man was linked with a R40 million move to Zamalek., Amakhosi were willing to listen to the Egyptian giants’ offer if it was around R40 million, just a little short of €2 million. The Venezuela international recently played in the World Cup qualifiers and given his international pedigree, he won’t come cheap.“Now that the inquiry has reached the management stage, they have come up with the price that will fit Castillo if he is to leave before his contract expires.
