Kaizer Chiefs are set to promote a 20-year-old to the senior team after his standout performances. More players set to move!
Chiefs’ scouts and technical team are excited about the potential of 20-year-old Xolani Cossa, who has caught the club’s attention with his impressive performances in the DDC side.
The technical team is excited about Cossa’s potential to become an understudy to Bafana Bafana’s Rushwin Dortley. “He is like Rushwin Dortley. Very skilled and good both in the air and on the ground. They want him to be an understudy to Dortley, and he will be playing in most of the friendly games so that he can acclimatize with playing for the first team,” the source added.
The club plans to promote these talents, but some may be loaned out to gain valuable game experience. “Some of these youngsters will be promoted and then loaned out. They don’t want to waste their talent by keeping them for a long time in the DDC while they are ready for the top league. So, since they can’t all play at the same time, they will loan some of them out,” explained another source close to the team.
With the promotion of Xolani Cossa and plans for further loan deals. Kaizer Chiefs are building a pipeline of young talent ready to make an impact in the senior team.
