“There was hope at some time that things could maybe work out for him, but at this point, his future at Chiefs will be coming to an end at the end of the season when his contract expires,” said an insider. “The club is trying to cut down their squad numbers. That’s why Dove and other players whose contracts are ending in June could be playing their last season here,” the source explained. “More players are expected to leave the village in June.”Edmilson Dove joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2022 as a free agent after leaving Cape Town City. Initially signing a two-year deal, his contract was extended to June 2025. In his first season, Dove made regular appearances and played a pivotal role.
