Mduduzi Shabalala, Kaizer Chiefs' star player, is attracting interest from European clubs as his contract nears its end. While Chiefs aim to secure a new deal, Shabalala's impressive performance has piqued the interest of another European team.
Kaizer Chiefs star player Mduduzi Shabalala is a wanted man in Europe and could leave for free with his contract ending in June. He is considered Kaizer Chiefs ’ best player this season, eclipsing Gaston Sirino. With Chiefs preparing to offer him a new deal, reports have emerged that the youngster has impressed another European club. Two years ago, Shabalala had unsuccessful trials at Belgian club KSV Westerlo but has since become a complete player.
At 20, the midfielder is carrying Kaizer Chiefs on his back this season. Reports indicate that the young attacker has attracted interest from a different team and with just six months left in his contract, he might leave for free. “No, it is not the same team. It is a different club altogether but there has been interest from another European club for Mdu (Shabalala),” a source told the publication. “The club is aware of that but they are not putting pressure on the player as he is enjoying his game at the moment and they are not entertaining any interest from other clubs, as things stand. “But they are not sure how long they will hold onto him with the form that he is currently on,” the source added. Shabalala has scored four goals, and assisted twice in 13 games across all competitions he played this season. Kaizer Chiefs have had a mixed season so far and losing a player of his calibre might take them two steps backwards next season
