Kaizer Chiefs’ social media post congratulating the Springboks on their Rugby World Cup win did not go well with some of the club’s supporters.
Messages from Kaizer Chiefs fans to Springboks on a job well done continued to pour in on the club’s X account, but some supporters made it clear that the club should be focused on emulating the Boks success.Despite being the biggest club in Southern Africa in terms of support, Chiefs have not won a trophy in over eight years.
Their supporters have demanded change in management and technical team. Although a new coach was appointed earlier this season, Molefi Ntseki lasted only four months before he was given the boot.“Been congratulating other teams for close to 10 years! When are celebrating excellence from you?” @mrmosala1 asked in a tweet.“Make our players watch all the springboks world cup games to see what do you mean when you say play for the badge,” @Krack251.
