Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune said he is not out to prove a point to anyone as he focuses on enjoying himself and giving supporters who believe in him something to smile about.

Khune was in good form when he played in the DSTV Compact Cup last weekend, making some crucial saves in goals for Warriors. "I told myself that I need to go out and impress and do what I do best. I am not out here to prove a point to anyone that I still got it. It's just to enjoy myself and give the fans who believe in me and have voted for me something to smile about," he told media earlier this week.

The 34-year-old has made just one appearance for Amakhosi this season, back in August last year in the MTN8. While he would love to get a chance to play at Chiefs, Khune says he is in full support of those who feature ahead of him in the team. "We understand that other goalkeepers are doing well and that has to be respected, hence you will never see me posting or commenting negatively about my situation because I am in full support of the ones who are getting the nod ahead of me.

Khune revealed that he got some words of encouragement from his Amakhosi teammates, as well as the technical team, after his performance last weekend. "We've got groups at the club. I did get positive feedback and they said I should not drop my head. I must keep my head up and I should keep working hard and things will get back to normal. I should just keep working and be patient, then I will get my chance."
