The Justice Department has closed its probe into Andrew McCabe, the former deputy director of the FBI, after examining whether to charge him with misleading investigators about his role in providing information to the media
WASHINGTON—The Justice Department has closed its investigation into former No. 2 FBI official Andrew McCabe without bringing charges, lawyers for Mr. McCabe said Friday, bringing to an end a controversial investigation into someone President Trump has repeatedly criticized.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Washington alerted Mr. McCabe’s counsel in a phone call and letter that conveyed the developments, his attorneys said.
