Jury to consider verdicts in case of two men accused of Aya Hachem's murder
The jury in the trial of two men accused of playing a role in the killing of teenager Aya Hachem has been sent to reach its verdict.
In 2020, Feroz Suleman hired hitman Raja, 33, to kill Mr Khan, and Raja travelled to Blackburn in a car driven by Anthony Ennis to carry out the shooting. The plan failed when Aya stepped out of the way of two oncoming cyclists and into the line of fire. Sohayl Suleman, 38, of Shear Brow, Blackburn, is the brother of Feroz Suleman and is accused by the prosecution of being the man who “organised and arranged the hit on Pacha Khan". Otway, 42, of Clitheroe Road, Manchester, is said to have been the link between the Blackburn men and the hitman. Both deny any involvement or connection to the murder plot.
He concluded: “He was a cocaine-addicted 'waste man' as his brother put it who had been kicked out of the family business. He was not trusted in any way to take part in a plan.”
