SARNIA – Noah Bristol testified he knew Clayton Ball was briefly hanging on the side of the pickup truck he had abruptly borrowed, but claimed he had no idea…
“Mr. Bristol’s evidence was not credible, unreliable and contradictory – and at times nonsensical,” Justice Anne McFadyen said while delivering her mid-July decision. “Further, at times, Mr. Bristol tailored his evidence to match that of another witness.”
Following a lengthy trial scattered over various days earlier this year, McFadyen, based in part on Bristol’s own evidence, found him guilty of all the charges. The Sarnia judge will sentence him in mid-October, 26 months after Ball was rushed to the trauma centre at a London hospital. Bristol testified he knew Ball was clinging to the side of the pickup as he drove away but claimed he didn’t see him fall and had no idea he was injured until he went on social media later that day.
“My face was in half. My leg was in half. My back was broken. Arm’s broken. My other leg was broken,”This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.Bristol became emotional when addressing Ball’s long list of injuries while testifying, but denied knowing Ball was hit or that he meant to strike him. “This wasn’t something that intentionally happened,” he had testified.
