The wide man reckons that the revamped Dons squad can make their mark on the group stage.
Jonny Hayes believes Barry Robson’s newly-assembled side can help Aberdeen make their mark domestically and in the Europa Conference League.
“I know you can’t turn up and play well every game but we’ve brought real quality into the building. We’ve got quantity and quality and the new lads look good already. The 36-year-old admitted most players prefer the games to training regularly. Hayes beamed: “I love playing football. When you are playing Thursday-Sunday it is enjoyable as you get to switch off for two or three days.
Hayes stated: “The bond here is brilliant. Everyone at the club knows each other and the players get to know all the staff. When the football club is doing well there’s a great vibe around the place. "I would imagine when we scored the equaliser in Hacken all the players and staff were up celebrating. Even the chairman was down there at full time. I’d love for him to have had a GPS on because he moved at some pace to get there.
Hayes knows his team will need them to try to upset the odds. Eintracht Frankfurt went all the way to Europa League glory two seasons ago, beating Rangers in the final. They sold Randal Kolo Muani to Paris St-Germain and Jesper Lindstrom to Napoli, but can still call on German legend Mario Gotze, Kevin Trapp and former Leeds defender Robin Kock.
