“I was raised in such a Midwestern way where it’s, ‘You’re just part of the team, don’t look at me, it’s nothing.’ And then I went into this business where it’s all about establishing yourself and shining a light,” says Hamm. “And I’ve tried, over the course of my career, to have a delicate balance of being understanding of that part of the dance while also understanding that too much of that is off-putting and thirsty.
“I’m not going to make a movie at that level to get rich. I’m making the movie because I want to make that movie,” Hamm says of remaking, which he’s eager to make a sequel. “And hopefully it becomes a proof of concept, and you can go, ‘Look, it’s really funny. Wouldn’t the people want to see more of this?’ And hopefully they will. We’re trying to find someone. We have the script.”
“L.A. is home, but we bought a place in New York City. It’s being renovated, and it’ll be ready at the end of the year,” says Hamm. “So, we’re staying in the Village now .
