John Wick: Chapter 4 star Bill Skarsgård teases his character’s rivalry with the titular assassin. The actor recently starred in Barbarian, continuing his trend of starring in horror films, as he’s also starred as Pennywise in the recent It films. Joining the hit movie series, which started off as Keanu Reeves’ return to gun-toting action flicks, John Wick: Chapter 4 sees Skarsgård as the movies main villain.

Skarsgård describes the Marquis as a young man of unknown origin who has quickly climbed the ranks of The High Table. Skarsgård also added that the character serves as the new sheriff in town, who is hellbent on getting rid of John Wick once and for all.
The Marquis is a young man of unknown origin who has quickly climbed the ladder within the High Table doing god knows what. I always saw him as someone from the gutter that now savors the glittery suits he’s wearing. He functions as the new sheriff set out to rid the world of John Wick once and for all. John’s getting old and tired, the Marquis is offering him a way out. To be the one who finally kills the Baba Yaga would secure his status and power within the High Table.
John Wick: Chapter 4’s cast features a smorgasbord of returning and new actors to the franchise. Returning to their John Wick roles are actors Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and Laurence Fishburne. Being in all three previous John Wick movies, this will also mark their fourth appearances as Winston, Charon and the Bowery King, respectively. Rounding out the cast alongside Skarsgård are Scott Adkins, Shamier Anderson, Clancy Brown, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen and Mark Zaror.
Fishburne has teased that the mythology and world-building of John Wick will deepen in this latest entry. With that, the film is expected to grow the unique lore and political intrigue attributed to the franchise. As for the plot, the film is expected to be taking off were the third film ended, in which John Wick is no longer part of the assassination organization, The High Table, and the price on his head remains.
