The anti\u002DPride movement reveals the vital truth that different cultures can disagree on whether something is right or wrong
An additional complication is that the “revolt of the elites” that has rocked Western civilization for more than half a century, arguably much more, holds a core belief that the West is fundamentally racist. To many, under the 1960s mantra “Vietnam is Alabama is Berkely” or today’s “Critical Race Theory,” bigotry underpins everything else ghastly about our own culture, from warmongering to the “manufactured consent” of academia, sexism, environmental degradation, hollow entertainment, etc.
For instance, Justin Trudeau clearly does not believe his own beliefs. He brushes off his routine transgressions against progressivism with a relativist, “People experience things differently” and professes Roman Catholicism while openly seeking to cancel its sexual doctrines. To him there’s no contradiction since ideas have no meaning.
