Herron is back in the Irish League two years after his contract with Larne was 'terminated by mutual agreement'
John Herron is back in the Irish League after being announced as Ballymena United's eighth signing of the summer.It sees the former Celtic midfielder return to the Premiership some two years after he had his contract with Larne "terminated by mutual agreement". Herron's exit came after images circulated online of him wearing a t-shirt at a concert with a ‘pro-IRA’ message.
The Showgrounds club said on social media: "We are pleased to announce the signing of John Herron on a 1 year deal. John will add a lot of quality and experience to our squad as we build for the season ahead. After leaving Larne, Herron , went on to play for Australian NPL side Dandenong City before moving to Gibraltar to join Manchester 1962.
