has announced that some reservoirs and towers continue to suffer as capacity is affected by high consumption caused by the heatwave.The entity said despite the increase in demand and consumption due to the heatwave, the systems continue to preserve stability; however, some of the systems continue to struggle with capacity.is currently supplying the area through the tower bypass system. This is due to unstable to no supply from Rand Water.
Crown Gardens: The reservoir remains critically low with minimal gains overnight. The system will be throttled at 20%. Pumping into the towers is ongoing;however, configuration is dependent on the reservoir levels for pumping. The following systems remain critically low to empty; Doornkop, Parktown, Linksfield, and Eagles Nest reservoirs, as well as the Linden 1 tower. Suburbs fed by these systems will experience poor pressure to no water, said Johannesburg Water.
