🇺🇸 US President Joe Biden has launched his widely-anticipated re-election campaign with a promise to “defend democracy” and “finish the job”
, who has also announced his candidacy for 2024, fired back before the video was even released with a characteristically colourful attack on what he called a “calamitous and failed presidency”.
“You could take the five worst presidents in American history, and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done to our Nation in just a few short years,” he said in aOn the Republican side; former governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, and former governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson, have announced their candidacies. The current governor of Florida, Ron de Santis, is expected to join them.
On the Democrat side; author and activist Marianne Williamson, and Robert F Kennedy, nephew of former President John F Kennedy, are among the candidates. The incumbent is not expected to face a serious primary challenge despite some concerns within the Democrat party
