Unplanned power outages plagued Johannesburg residents overnight, leaving some asking if loadshedding had returned.
Joburg power cuts: Frustrated residents hit by unplanned outagesNumerous areas in Johannesburg were left in the dark on Monday 9 December 2024 due to unplanned power outages, to the frustration of many residents.
At 4:00 they said an outage affected Hamburg, Florida and Bergbron. A resident from Delarey commented on the post. They reminded them that they hadn’t had power since 9 December in the afternoon. Residents from Benrose, Droste Park, Denver and other areas had to wait until morning to get help. The city said this was due “to the area being unsafe.”reported on 8 December 2024 that Vosloorus would have an outage on Tuesday, 10 December. It will affect customers in Vosloorus Extensions 1,16 & 31, Sotho and Mabuya from 9:00 – 18:00. This is part of a planned series of outages in Johannesburg areas from 9 – 15 December.
