Jessica Barden isn’t a fan of actors like Emma Corrin apparently indulging in ‘working class tourism’ by looking for 'gritty' parts.
The 30-year-old actress from North Yorkshire was brought up in a working-class family in Northallerton.Jessica is the daughter-in-law of Happy Days’ legend Henry Winkle – known for character Fonzie – after she tied the knot to his screenwriter son Max in 2021., who explained they were looking for ‘gritty’ parts with ‘outrageous accents’.Jessica grew up in a working-class family in Yorkshire The You & Me actress continued: ‘Gritty means working class and feisty means you have an opinion.
‘I was, like, why are you allowed to talk like this? How is working class tourism still OK for posh actors?’ Now living in Hollywood with her screenwriter husband, Jessica revealed that she was one of the very few working-class actors in the industry. Her beginnings are polar opposite to that of fellow actor Emma, 27, who was privately educated at Woldingham School and went to Cambridge.
