Jesse Eisenberg is directing a new, currently untitled musical comedy movie that will star Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti.
, which both Topic Studios and Fruit Tree were involved in. Now playing in United States theaters, the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past January and stars Eisenberg as David alongside Kieran Culkin as Benji.“The film follows a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads.
Eisenberg will contribute original music to his new movie. Production is expected to begin in early 2025. Fruit Tree — which is helmed by Emma Stone, Dave McCary, and Ali Herting — developed the project with Eisenberg and will produce the movie alongside Topic Studios. Along with A Real Pain, Eisenberg recently played a sasquatch in 2024’s Sasquatch Sunset, which was directed by David and Nathan Zellner. He’ll soon be seen reprising his role as J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas in Now You See Me 3, which has officially wrapped production.
