The Texans’ defense is much improved from last year’s mess. The offense is much like it was on its worst days. You’re not going to win many NFL games with 153 yards net passing. In fact, the Texans have won just 11 such games in the last 10 years. You hold Russell Wilson to 219 yards passing, 16 points and a single touchdown, you’re supposed to win. Close games only matter to bettors who took the points. This should have been a victory.Davis “Dump-off” Mills is good and average.
The Texans are clearly afraid of what he can’t do, so they’re putting very little pressure on opposing defenses.Rex Burkhead barely played. Clearly the Texans learned what not to do in last week’s tie. Dameon Pierce ran hard and with purpose, totaling 69 yards on 15 carries. He had a plus day.Mills was throwing the ball all over the place – high, wide, in the dirt – but his receivers weren’t exactly creating a lot of space.
