Jenson Brooksby celebrates after defeating Casper Ruud at the Australian Open in Melbourne, Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023. It’s the first time the top two seeds were knocked out at the end of the second round since the 2002 Australian Open.. It’s the most in the third round of the tournament since the same number did it in 1996.
Michael Mmoh, Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul, J.J. Wolf, Frances Tiafoe and Sebastian Korda are all moving into the third round. Mmoh knocked off No 12 Alexander Zverev 6-7 , 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
