The Whites made it all the way to the Championship Play-Off final last season and they've been backed to go one better this time around
Former Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling is backing Leeds United to go one better than last season and win promotion back to the Premier League. The Whites were beaten 1-0 in the Championship Play-Off final by Southampton last term, bringing the 2023/24 campaign to a disappointing close.
Speaking on talkSPORT yesterday morning, the pair discussed Leeds' opening game of the season clash with Portsmouth and their pre-season predictions with the Championship campaign set to start this weekend.“I think Leeds have got a great chance," Stelling said this morning on talkSPORT. "I think they’ll go up. Mind you, I thought they would last season as well.
“I felt for them," Holloway said later on in the show as he reflected on Leeds' most recent campaign. "They kept as many of their good players as they could. I wouldn’t want their wage bill, to be honest, Daniel Farke is great and he could still get them up.”
