Jeep recalling nearly 63,000 Wrangler 4xes over engine shutdown issues:
The root cause of the issue is not clear, but the problem can be fixed with an updated software calibration for the transmission control module and auxiliary hybrid control processor.that 100 percent of the vehicles recalled could have the issue; Jeep is aware of two accidents and one injury that could be related to the defect.
Jeep is still investigating the root cause of the problem which appears to stem from somewhere in the transmission control module and the auxiliary hybrid control processor. A fix is said to be available with a software update to both systems.
