Jayron Kearse said he has no problem with 49ers tight end George Kittle wearing a t-shirt with a profane remark about the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys safety Jayron Kearse reacts after being flagged during the first half of an NFL football game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, in Santa Clara, Calif.“Flushing this game down the drain,” Kearse said on a Wednesday afternoon conference call. “Getting in there watching it, see what went wrong and on to the next.”Kearse is normally one of the more accessible players to the media, yet, he didn’t speak following the Sunday night loss.
“We’re a great defense. That’s what we are,” Kearse said. “And if you really break it down, and put it into perspective, you watch great shooters in basketball go out there and have rough games and that’s no different than us. We had a rough one. They had our number, they beat us bad speaking on the defensive side.”Kearse said, “We know who we are,” indicating his team hasn’t lost much confidence after a loss to a title-contending team such as the 49ers.
The Kittle t-shirt, which could draw a fine from the league due to the profanity he displayed, wasn’t met with much resistance from Kearse. “I don’t have any thoughts on it,” Kearse said. “A couple of guys told me about it. I don’t have any thoughts on it. I kinda think back to a couple of years ago, with the Carolina Panthers, guys had problems with Cam Newton dancing. The only way to stop that is to keep him out of the end zone. So we let him get in the end zone, he chose for that to be his celebration. So the only way to stop that is keep him out of the end zone. I don’t have a problem with nothing he did.
