Glen Duncan questioned why the two men staying in an Airbnb were Jay was last seen were ruled irrelevant by cops so early on
Jay Slater 's heartbroken uncle said he has been "baffled from day one" about one crucial decision made by Tenerife police as he branded the three-week-long search a "massive let down".
The Airbnb where Jay was last seen is owned by Ayub Qassim, a convicted drug dealer. The 31-year-old has stated: "I let the geezer stay at mine because he had nowhere else to go. Despite considerable efforts, the search operation run by Tenerife officials wrapped up last weekend after a 14-day duration. The Spanish cops, during their extensive inquiries, reiterated numerous times that the two Brit men - who rented out the Airbnb where Jay was staying before he vanished - have 'no relevance' to the investigation and have flown home to the UK.
Jay's uncle has spoken out saying he has been 'thinking third party involvement from the start'. "If he's gone on a trail like a path like this and he's got lost there or fallen down I think he would have been found by now. I've been thinking third party involvement from the start. There's just some things that have already been out there.
Mr Duncan added: "Jay was a typical 19 year old lad, so family oriented. He was great with my two daughters which a lot of 19 year olds aren't. A lot of 19 year old lads shy away from children."
