Jay Slater's best friend has shared a touching tribute to the 'happiest and most smiley person' after a body was discovered near where his phone last pinged.
Formal identification has not yet been conducted, but officers state that 'everything is pointing to it being' the missing teenager. His heartbroken mother Debbie Duncan, 55, has 'lots of questions which she hopes will be answered in the coming days,' according to a source close to the family. The exact location where the body was found has not yet been disclosed by authorities, but it is understood that the remains were discovered in an 'inaccessible' and extremely remote area near the village of Masca.
A portion of the clip shows two members of the search team being airlifted out of the area by helicopter after the body had been found and recovered. The Civil Guard stated in a release: "The discovery was possible thanks to the incessant and discreet search carried out by the Civil Guard during these 29 days, in which the natural space was preserved so that it would not be filled with onlookers."
