We chat with DoubleLife star JaviciaLeslie about what drew her to the female-led thriller, and how being Batwoman helped prepare her for the stunts on set:
Double Life is an action-packed thriller that follows a grieving widow who learns from her late husband’s mistress that his death was no accident. The two women will form an unlikely alliance to uncover the truth behind his murder and unmask the man they both loved.
Screen Rant spoke with Javicia Leslie about what drew her to the role of Jo in Double Life and what it was like getting into the mindset of being the other woman. She discusses what having a female-led thriller means to her, as well. Javicia also reveals how Batwoman prepared her for this film and if she would ever be willing to put the cape back on now that DC’s multiverse has opened up. Javicia Leslie: When I first read the script. I love thrillers, I grew up watching thrillers.
What was it like getting into the mindset of being the other woman? Even though you didn't know he was married, you're still the other woman. I can keep doing the same conversation with different influences, and it will always create a different conversation to a certain extent. It's the same way when you watch a movie. My boyfriend, I finally broke up with him, and I realized why I did. And I started watching stuff. I was like, Oh, my God, this is what was happening to me, and I didn't even notice. It'll be something that I had seen a long time ago. And I completely understood why it happened the way that it happened.
