Trout returned to the lineup and had his 23rd career multi-home run game. Walsh, who also made a pair of diving stops to prevent Mets hits in the early innings, had a single in the third inning, a double in the fifth and a solo shot in the seventh.
It was their second victory in three games after a franchise-record, 14-game losing streak. Nevin is 2-3 as manager after Joe Maddon was fired last Tuesday. Mets starter Carlos Carrasco lost for the first time since April 27. The right-hander allowed five runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
