I’d ask any one on the political right who is uncomfortable with discussing race to remember the political environment we are in

their strategy as follows: “The goal of this work is a comprehensive strategy that identifies concrete ways to address both the systemic discrimination and anti-Black racism that exists in Canada’s criminal justice system, as well as actions to reform and modernize the criminal justice system, to ensure that every Canadian has access to fair and just treatment before the law.

But black Canadians are also disproportionately the victims of gun crimes. Might a “black justice strategy” mean tougher sentences for illegally possessing or using a gun? Why assume that black Canadians want more lenient laws against crimes that disproportionately endanger black children? This is why conservatives in black communities are so inconvenient to the political left. Black conservatives can ask the questions that black liberals won’t. And black conservatives can represent the members of black communities who liberals ignore, like those primarily concerned with victims of crime rather than offenders.Article content

The “inconvenient minority” designation applies to black conservatives, as well. By departing from liberal groupthink, black conservatives make life complicated for those who want to present simple narratives to explain complex phenomena.
