Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool dropped points in the Premier League title race as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Luton Town
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes his old club's inability to defend counterattacks is preventing them from matching pace with Manchester City in the Premier League.
The draw leaves the Reds three points behind City at the top of the Premier League with an encounter between the two clubs on the horizon after the international break. Reflecting on what the result could mean for Liverpool's title challenge, Carragher admitted this part of his old side's game could hinder their hopes of surpassing City.READ MORE: Carragher sends message to Phillips
"They're not quite as good as City in possession so there's more turnovers when they lose the ball. Opponents seem to find spaces a lot more to get in behind and attack Liverpool. Luton didn't have the quality to really punish them except for the goal that we saw."
