James Gunn teases a super secret DCU project he's already working on. Best known for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy before he was fired by Disney and switched sides to DC for The Suicide Squad and the HBO Max spinoff Peacemaker, Gunn was announced as the co-head of the rebranded DC Studios along with Peter Safran last month. Since accepting the post, Gunn has been teasing his vision for the new DCU.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY As 2022 comes to a close, James Gunn took to Twitter to share his Spotify Wrapped for the past year. However, he could not share the full compilation of data since two songs in his top five are from Gunn's secret DC project. While omitting his top songs for the year, Gunn did share his top genres, top artist, and his listening personality.
Among Gunn's top five genres for the past year is Sleaze Rock which, as he explains, is otherwise known as Hair Metal or Glam Metal and is the kind of music Gunn uses in Peacemaker. In the past year, he probably listened to several songs that will be used in Peacemaker season 2, or perhaps even The Suicide Squad 3, which may be his next project. However, with Gunn specifying it is a "secret DC project," it will probably be an entirely new story centered around a lesser-known hero.
Since becoming the head of DC Studios, Gunn has teased several heroes who could appear in future DCU projects, such as Deadman, Lobo, and Mister Terrific. However, it's unclear if any of these characters will be the focus of his own secret DCU project. Gunn is incredibly active on social media, so hopefully, he will drop some more teases about his secret DC project very soon.
