A few days ago, a stolen JamesBond Aston Martin DB5 was found after being missing for 25 years 🙌 Christopher Marinello says he's been working the case since 2007 😱 'I’m a law and order guy. I don’t like criminals'

Christopher Marinello, who found an Aston Martin used to film the James Bond movie Goldfinger after 25 years, has been working the case since 2007. Though the fictional MI5 agent has driven multiple tricked-out vehicles throughout the lengthy film franchise, there is perhaps no single car more associated with Bond than the Aston Martin DB5, first used in the aforementioned 1964 Sean Connery movie.

Bond's DB5 made the news recently for another reason - a Goldfinger Aston Martin stolen from a private collector in 1997 has been located after having been missing for 25 years. The car, valued at approximately $25 million, was confirmed via serial number to be in an undisclosed"private setting" somewhere in the Middle East.

I’ve been working on the case since 2007, and will continue to do so until the car is recovered, or the title dispute resolved in an amicable, discreet fashion. We don’t know how the car got to where it is currently, but we do have a solid lead and strong verification. It is time for someone to suggest a meeting to resolve this dispute. [...] I’m a law and order guy. I don’t like criminals — whether Nazis, looters, thieves or buyers of stolen items who didn’t ask any questions.

While it's certainly remarkable that the Goldfinger Aston Martin has been found after all these years, it should be no surprise that Marinello & Co. never gave up the search, as the Bond car is one of the most recognizable and beloved props in movie history. Its return in No Time To Die's opening scene was a major event for fans of the franchise, and a key signal of the film's intention to celebrate Bond's on-screen history.

Now that No Time To Die has brought the Craig era of Bond to a close, 007 will surely be a hot topic of discussion, as the producers must go about finding a new actor to play the role. Whoever they choose will shape the franchise's immediate future, and the new films will likely mark a shift in tone, just as Craig's gritty take succeeded Pierce Brosnan's heightened one.
