Former 905 head coach and longtime NBA assistant Delany are the first two to join Rajakovic.
The Toronto native, a former Raptors assistant and Raptors 905 head coach, will join Darko Rajakovic’s Toronto staff, team and league sources confirmed.
Mahlalela, who worked with the Raptors and their G League affiliate from 2013-21, has spent the last two seasons on the staff of the Golden State Warriors. While the 43-year-old, Swaziland-born Mahlalela is known for his player development skills, to pigeonhole him solely as a teacher rather than a tactician would be unfair.
Kerr’s Warriors had a mix of veterans who had championships and younger players in need of mentoring and Mahlalela was responsible for making it work. “He really organizes our daily schedule,” Kerr said. “He’s kind of my chief of staff in a lot of ways. On top of that he’s just a great person, fun to be around.”
