The Bulls and their director of rugby, Jake White, will not face disciplinary action fromfor fielding a weakened team in the Champions Cup quarter-final against Northampton Saints.

An anonymous rugby official told Rapport, “The EPCR likely intended to give the Bulls a mild warning and nothing more.”White defended his choice to field a weakened team, citing player welfare concerns, such as injuries his players had sustained in previous matches. The Bulls believed they had enough medical evidence to present a strong case if EPCR had started a formal inquiry.
“After the weekend’s results, it was privately agreed that the knockouts need a week’s break between the round-of-16 and the quarter-finals. I must commend that from a logistical standpoint,” the Bulls’ director of rugby wrote in his RugbyPass column.
