Playoff-bound: Defense and special teams saved the day — make that Saturday night — for the Jaguars, and it shows in the weekly report card.

Defense: A

A Tyson Campbell interception near the end of the third quarter, aided by pass-rusher Arden Key impeding QB Joshua Dobbs’ follow-through deep ball for Treylon Burks, triggered the comeback from a 16-10 deficit. With the Jaguars’ season ticking toward doom late in the fourth quarter, safety Rayshawn Jenkins came untouched on a blitz and his hit on Dobbs forced a fumble that Josh Allen returned for a 37-yard touchdown with 2:51 remaining.

After allowing six catches for 69 yards and a touchdown to tight ends in the first half, the Jaguars only permitted one reception by a tight end in the second half.Jamal Agnew had two nifty kick returns out of the end zone for 31 and 54 yards in the first half, the latter setting up the Jaguars’ first touchdown.

His last three punts in the fourth quarter were critical in the Jaguars gaining the field position edge, which played a huge part in the outcome.
