Every team within the AFC South, aside from the Houston Texans, remains within reach of a division title. But the Jaguars won't let themselves look too far ahead.

Even after the team's big win against the Tennessee Titans last week, Pederson didn't appear to be any higher on the team than he has in the past. It's all part of the process.

"I know this team has the same [mentality] of, 'it's the next week' and especially if we want to go to places where we gotta go, we gotta prepare and we got to win the game. So I know everybody will come in motivated, celebrate this one and, you know, once tomorrow comes, move on and get and get ready."There isn't much wiggle room for Jacksonville. The team understands where they are in the season and how they got here.

The playoffs are the objective, but there isn't any looking ahead for the team. While fans and other observers are figuring out scenarios of how the team can get into the playoffs, Jacksonville is focused on figuring out how to defeat the Cowboys. The Jaguars aren't ignorant of the situation they're in right now. They aren't shying away from the fact that the playoffs are in the balance and it could be in their future if things go the right way. Still, that's not their main focus right now.

"We understand that we know that could be in our future," Jaguars defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot said in the locker room on Thursday."But also we're focused on week to week, we're focused on just winning this weekend. After that, we kind of just got to see what happens."
