An F-Pace SVR was already a great buy new; it's looking even more tempting at well under £50k...
Hard to imagine any kind of car enthusiast being disappointed by the Jaguar F-Pace SVR when it launched in 2019. If you liked SUVs then it appealed with those suave good looks and decent space; if you liked Jaguars, then the sound and performance of the supercharged V8 was certainly compelling; and for those mortified the family-friendly SVR wasn’t an XF, five minutes driving the F-Pace would likely have done the trick.
Now, of course, a Jaguar that currently costs a little more than £45k at three years old is going to continue to depreciate. Potentially by quite a lot, too. But the curve won’t be as steep as that initial decline, and there’s not going to be much for sale at this money that isn’t going to continue depreciating for a little while yet. Why not do it in leather-lined luxury? Even with more miles than might be expected, this SVR presents very nicely indeed.
The Jag even looks decent value against more obvious rivals. A Range Rover Sport SVR might be a tad bigger and have a more desirable badge, but pay less than £50k for one and it’ll be older and with more miles than the F-Pace. Similarly, the Porsche badge on a Macan Turbo is a compelling prospect, though precious few of this age are around for sub-£50k. And it’s nowhere near as family-friendly as the SVR.
